Schedule at a glance for the 5th European Conference on Clinical and Social Research on AIDS and Drugs

Before we show you the schedule for the conference, we would like to share a bit of news regarding AIDS and swimming pool / hot tub safety. Infectious diseases like AIDS require transfer of body fluids such as infected saliva, mucous or semen, regardless of location. Pools and hot tubs that are properly chlorinated by correctly balancing chlorine and acid to amount of gallons in the pool and are clean regularly, should pose not problems. Check the information provided here. Likewise, in a hot tub as well as swimming pools, the water greatly dilutes the virus, making the chances of it getting into a persons bloodstream within minutes, even more unlikely. In the US the CDC (Center for Disease Control) states that it has no records of anyone becoming infected by HIV as a result of blood found in swimming pool water. According to the New York State Department of Health, if someone has AIDS, he/she won’t spread the condition to others merely through swimming in the same pool water. HIV cannot be transmitted by casual contact such as using a public telephone, drinking fountain, restroom, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, or hot tub. The HIV virus has evolved to live ONLY inside the human body. It cannot survive outside the human body under any natural conditions, wet or dry. So the bottom line is that the virus is killed by the normal levels or chlorine used to disinfect public swimming pools, saunas, or hot tubs. And for those that have their own pool or hot tub at home, follow the instructions for properly maintaining the cleaning and ph balancing required from the manufacturer. As anyone who has a hot tub / and or outside pool, they often become the center for memorable parties and get-to-gather and the favorite place in the world to just hang out.
