To register as a vendor, you must bring your vendor license, photo id, and all materials to set up for a 12 x 10 booth. Vendor registration is for a single business for a single tent/booth and passes for 2 booth workers. Additional work passes are available on a case by case basis. Both indoor and outdoor vendors will have tents up and space is limited so make sure to register early. Outdoor booths will have yellow signage and Indoor booths will have pink. Make sure to pick up the appropriate signage when you check in. 2 tables are included with your registration fee and additional tables are available at an extra charge per table or bring your own if necessary. Last years vendors included small mom and pop shops as well as booths from our larger sponsors. One very successful outfit, STD-Test-Kits.org sold out their supply of private online home sti test kits on the first day! Also known as sexually transmitted diseases or sexually transmitted infections, these conditions have become a huge social problem in the age of easy hookups via the internet. STDs or STIs are clearly a concern for everyone and this vendor just happened to be at the right place at the right time. There were even some vendors for children, including a coloring book vendor, custom wooden toys as well as one that would wrap and send your child princess dresses while you’re away at the conference. Adorable and bright packaging was available to choose from as well as immediate mail out. It is always thrilling for any child to receive a present especially one that come in the mail.

An aside: Jump ahead to 2020 with the Covid-19 pandemic basically shutting down all gatherings such as this European Conference on Clinical and Social Research on AIDS and Drugs in Vilnius. Conferences now are going to be very different for a while. Consider the 2020 International Conference on STD Prevention that is going to be held in Las Vegas in September 14-15, 2020. We have been notified that it will be an online event. So rather than driving to the convention center (I happen to live in Las Vegas), I will be logging in on my computer. Although I feel that networking at conventions is very important, I am relieved that this conference is virtual. I won’t have to even get dressed if I don’t want to! I can relax on my deck, enjoy some great spring water from Tahoe Springs Water, the water delivery Las Vegas based company that I use, nibble some food and sit back to listen to the key note speakers. Sounds pretty cushy to me. No traveling, catching flights, suffering from time differences etc. Hey, I could get use to virtual conferences, as long as my internet is functioning.

Arrive early on the day of the conference to get your bearings before it begins. Vendors are required to arrive 2 hours before opening for prep and set up. Coffee and Tea will be available upon the doors opening. Lunch will be served in the large hall cafeteria. And small food vendors will be on the premise as well. Conference meetings will begin promptly after lunch at 2pm. 430pm we will break for a 15 minutes. Coffee will be available at this time in the lobby. We will wrap up at 630. Those giving talks are experienced speakers and have always made great efforts to keep their lectures from going over their allotted time. There are always the unexpected occurrences so be prepared if the conference goes over by a little.
