According to a UN recent study there are each year on the average about 6,200 people injured and 725 killed driving in Lithuania. These statistics include car accidents that occurred on Lithuanian modern highways between major cities, as well as simple small dirt roads throughout the countryside. Unfortunately violation of traffic rules is routine so you should exercise care and drive defensively. There are car accident lawyers in Lithuania. But unless you speak the language, it would be better to contact your embassy for help. Nevertheless, the advice you would receive from a state side car accident lawyer probably is sound advice even in a foreign country: Before you say or sign anything, it’s important to speak with an attorney or at least your embassy.
